Istanbul Restaurant: A Must-Try for Turkish Cuisine Lovers

My friend and I went to Istanbul Restaurant for what was probably our last meet-up of the year. Istanbul Restaurant was an excellent choice! The food was a feast for the senses!

We arrived at the restaurant at 11:30 a.m. and were the first diners because they had just opened. The restaurant is open from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. My friend used to live in Turkey, so I asked for recommendations. She highly recommended Lahmacun, so we ordered it to share. For our main courses, she chose Sebzeli Urfa, and I opted for Rocking Chicken.

The first dish served was Lahmacun (6.5 USD). Lahmacun is pronounced "lahma'joun" , which means dough with meat. It is a pizza-like dish topped with minced meat, vegetables, and herbs. It was delectable! She commented that it tasted like the ones she had in Turkey. The serving was generous enough for two to three people.

We were thrilled when the Rocking Chicken (6.99 USD) was served. It was presented on a large wooden plate with a ring of what looked like rock salt burning around it, adding a dramatic touch to the dish. It is a dish consisted of two chicken skewers, rice, bazlama (flatbread), and red cabbage salad. I loved the combination of these elements!

The Sebzeli Urfa (6.99 USD) includes one chicken kebab, rice, bazlama, and red cabbage salad.

They also gave us this delicious complimentary bread, which I happily devoured.
