Obtaining a police clearance certificate in Cambodia is easy but the process of getting the requirements for it can be a walk in the park or a herculean task depending on your location and your landlord. To obtain a police clearance certificate, you need to get some documents from the Sangkat (commune) police station and the local commune office where you are residing. You are lucky if your landlord knows the process and is willing to help. When processing, it would be better if your landlord accompanies you for translation and fee negotiation. However, you can process it by yourself. Just remember that there is no standard fee.
Steps
1. You need to go to the Sangkat police station to have your name listed and be given a number. The document they will give you is needed for processing the Residence Certification Letter at the local commune office. Make sure to state that the purpose is for police clearance. You can get the document right away as long as the person who needs to sign is available.
Make sure to prepare the following: ID pictures, photocopy of visa and passport, photocopy of house rental agreement
2. After getting the document from the Sangkat police station, you can now go to the commune office to process your Residence Certification Letter. You can get it right away as long as the signee is available. In Toul Kork district, it costs 15 USD.

3. After getting your Residence Certification Letter, you are now ready to go to the Ministry of Justice to process your police clearance. The office is open Mondays through Fridays, from 8:00 to 11:00 AM and 2:00- 5:00 PM.
Here are the requirements you need to prepare to process your Police clearance at the Ministry of Justice.
1. Residence Certification Letter
2. Curriculum vitae
3. 3 passport-size ID
4. Photocopy of passport bio page and visa
5. Passport
Keep in mind the following:
1. There are two different fees.
a. For regular service inclusive of the English translation that takes around 20 days, it is 72.50 USD.
b. For expedited service that takes around 12 days, it’s about 125 USD.
2. Make sure to prepare passport size ID pictures and photocopies of visa and passport bio page.

You can now apply for a police clearance online. You can go to https://cr.moj.gov.kh/ or download the Ministry of Justice CR-MOJ App from App Store or Play Store.
Some of my friends just applied for their police clearance certificate, and they strongly advised registering online. Just download and open the app, scan your passport, fill in the form, and upload your ID and residence certification letter. You will be given a schedule to go to the Ministry of Justice to provide your fingerprint and payment. Make sure to bring your Residence Certificate, passport, and photocopy of your bio page and visa with you. Since you uploaded your ID picture, you don't need to provide it. They paid 72.50 inclusive of the English translation for the regular service.
