Where to Eat in Phnom Penh: Bornga Korean Restaurant

"A place where you discover the whole new taste of excellent Korean cuisine."

Bornga is my go-to restaurant when craving for Korean food. My friend, who enjoys Korean cuisine, describes it as the best Korean restaurant in Phnom Pehn. I agree with her. We have been to some Korean restaurants in Phnom Pehn and by far, Bornga is the best. It may be a bit pricey but it’s WORTH it!

Bornga, according to its website, was founded in Korea in 1993. Their menu was developed by Baek Jong-won, the CEO. Baek Jong-won is an acclaimed Korean chef and you may know him from his famous cooking TV shows like Baek Jong-won’s Alley Restaurant, Baek Jong-won’s Food Truck and Baek Jong-won’s Top 3 Chef King. He is also often seen as a guest in some Korean variety shows. Bornga has branches in countries like Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia and Australia among others.

Woo-samgyup is their signature dish. It is a thinly sliced beef brisket/flank marinated in a special sauce. They also serve kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew), dolsot bibimbap (rice dish in a hot-stone pot), samgyetang (chicken soup with ginseng), and japchae (stir-fried glass noodles and vegetables), etc. Check out the menu here.

They serve a variety of banchan or side dishes. Love it! Just with it, you’re already full!
